(More customer reviews)I looked through dozens and dozens of teakettles before settling on this one, the selling point being that it matches my simple lines collection, however, other than boiling water, it fails. The whistle, does not whistle. It might give a super faint whooooo sound once the water is rapidly boiling. When I open the valve (if the pot is more than 3/4 full), the boiling water shoots out, and when pouring, the water initially flows backwards down the neck all over the counter, no matter how I angle it or how slowly or quickly I start to pour. The size is great, it is large, it is solid, and looks pretty on my stove. I like the stout design, and the shiny black handle.
