(More customer reviews)This kettle was awful from the get go: it is really really cheap plastic (there is good quality thick plastic and such); the lid wouldn't open enough
to put water in then it opened too far and wouldn't shut all the way, causing the auto off feature not to work.

I asked for my money back and that was even worse: the man I dealt with was very very mean and crude.

I just threw the unit away.

I had bought another lemon before this one--, both very inexpensive. I had forgotten my old rule: always buy top of the line with electronics, and the auto-off
is electronic.

I went ahead and bought a $60 unit from amazon: if something goes wrong they are quick to send you a return shipping label and replace or reimburse the situation.
