(More customer reviews)The good news is that this kettle has a large water capacity, and a rather loud whistle.The whistle is not particularly pleasant, but it's really not unpleasant either.It has a heavy stainless steel body, and it's appearance is fairly nice.

The bad news is that the black rubber parts on the handle and lid look really cheap, and the lid leaks just enough steam to make the lever you pull to pour the water very hot!Too hot to not use a potholder to open it.

In the long run I think the rubber parts will deteriorate, which makes me wish sprung the cash for the Chantal.I like the utiliarian look of the kettle, but if these parts were a little better quality I'd give it another star.I mean it does boil water, which is the whole point, so I won't lose sleep over having to use a potholder. Once the rubber is destroyed, I will likely buy a different kettle.
