(More customer reviews)I chose this kettle because it is a healthier choice than using the coil-in-the-kettle kind I had and wanted to replace. An additional benefit to having a stainless steel kettle is that you can easily put it in the dishwasher. It does take longer to boil than my electric kettle but the difference is not that significant. This kettle does not whistle so my way around that issue is I put my timer on for five minutes so when it beeps I am there just as the water boils.

It is difficult to figure out how far to fill the kettle. The waterlines are on the outside where you can not see the water levels. To be safe, I fill it up just under the spout line. It does not make a ton of water like the giant electric kettles do these days but in comparison to other stovetop kettles, it makes a decent amount of boiling water. It is very light weight, no heavy-duty copper bottoms to weigh it down but as someone with strength issues, that is just fine with me. The spout was getting a little dull from much use so I put it through the dishwasher and everything was back to being pretty and shiny. The lid fits nice and snug, no issues of leaking were detected.

I love using this kettle not only to make tea but for taking my foodie photographs. I would be lying if I did not say that a big reason I wanted this kettle was because it is so pretty. Normally I just hide my kettle away in my kitchen closet but with this kettle I like to keep it on my stovetop, all gleaming and ready to go. It also makes me feel like Paula Deen is in my kitchen with me as I cook and bake, although we sometimes argue about how much butter is going into my food.

A beautiful, simple, easy-to-use kettle that gives me peace of mind that I am boiling water in a safe and healthy way.
